These Terms govern access to and use of the Houndrise website, store, content, and services. By visiting the site or placing an order, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy, Shipping Policy, and Return and Refund Policy.

ABOUT Houndrise

Houndrise operates from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada and sells pet products through a Shopify-powered online store.

ELIGIBILITY AND ACCOUNTS

You must be the age of majority in your jurisdiction, or use the Services with the consent and supervision of a parent or legal guardian.

You are responsible for the accuracy of information you provide and the confidentiality of your account credentials. Notify us promptly of unauthorized account use.

PRODUCTS AND PET SAFETY

We try to describe and display products accurately, but colours, dimensions, packaging, and minor details can vary.

Select products appropriate for your pet’s size, age, health, and behaviour. Supervise use, inspect products regularly, and remove any product that becomes damaged or could create a choking or ingestion hazard. No toy is indestructible unless expressly stated.

Our products and website content are not veterinary or medical advice. Consult a qualified veterinarian about health, dietary, behavioural, or safety concerns. Use products only as directed.

PRICES, CURRENCIES, AND PAYMENT

Prices may be displayed in CAD, USD, or another available market currency. The price and currency shown at checkout are the amount charged, before separately displayed taxes, shipping, duties, or fees.

A card issuer may apply its own conversion rate or fees.

We may change prices or promotions before an order is placed. You agree to provide current, complete, and accurate billing and payment information.

ORDERS AND ACCEPTANCE

An order confirmation acknowledges receipt; it does not guarantee acceptance or shipment.

We may limit quantities or cancel an order because of suspected fraud, payment failure, inventory errors, pricing or product-information errors, shipping restrictions, or other lawful reasons.

If we cancel a paid order, we will refund the cancelled amount to the original payment method.

FULFILLMENT, SHIPPING, CANCELLATIONS, AND RETURNS

Orders may be fulfilled by third-party warehouse and shipping partners.

Shipping estimates and procedures are described in our Shipping Policy. Cancellation, return, replacement, and refund eligibility is described in our Return and Refund Policy. Those policies form part of these Terms.

INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

The Services, including Houndrise branding, text, graphics, logos, images, video, design, and site content, are owned by or licensed to Houndrise and protected by applicable intellectual-property laws.

You may use the site for personal, non-commercial shopping only. You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, sell, exploit, or create derivative works from our content without written permission.

REVIEWS AND SUBMITTED CONTENT

If you submit a review, photo, comment, suggestion, or other content, you confirm that you have the right to share it and that it is accurate, lawful, and does not violate another person’s rights.

You grant Houndrise a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to use, reproduce, edit, publish, and display that content for operating and promoting the Services.

We may remove content that is unlawful, misleading, abusive, or irrelevant.

PROHIBITED USES

You may not use the Services to:

Violate a law or another party’s rights
Transmit harmful code
Interfere with site security or operation
Scrape or collect data without permission
Impersonate another person
Submit false information
Engage in fraud, harassment, abuse, or unauthorized resale

We may suspend access or cancel affected orders where permitted by law.

THIRD-PARTY SERVICES AND LINKS

Shopify, payment processors, fulfillment partners, carriers, analytics providers, advertising platforms, and other service providers may support the Services.

Third-party sites and services are governed by their own terms and privacy notices. We are not responsible for third-party content or services except to the extent required by law.

PRIVACY

Our collection, use, and disclosure of personal information is described in our Privacy Policy. Shopify also processes information needed to provide the store and checkout.

DISCLAIMERS

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Services are provided on an “as available” basis. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free access.

Nothing in these Terms excludes warranties, guarantees, or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded.

LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Houndrise will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive loss arising from the Services or products.

Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited only to the extent permitted by law. This does not limit liability for fraud, wilful misconduct, personal injury caused by negligence, or any liability that cannot legally be limited.

INDEMNIFICATION

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify Houndrise against third-party claims, losses, and reasonable costs resulting from your unlawful misuse of the Services, violation of these Terms, or infringement of another person’s rights.

SEVERABILITY AND WAIVER

If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in effect. A failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver.

GOVERNING LAW

These Terms are governed by the laws of Alberta and the applicable federal laws of Canada, without limiting mandatory consumer rights that apply where you live.

Courts in Alberta will have jurisdiction except where applicable law permits or requires a different forum.
